25 ნოემბერი არის საერთაშორისო დღე ქალებზე ძალადობის წინააღმდეგ. თარიღის არჩევა უკავშირდება 1960 წლის 25 ნოემბერს დები მირაბალების მკვლელობას, რომლებიც პოლიტიკური აქტივისტები იყვნენ და ეწინააღმდეგებოდნენ რაფაელ ტრუხილოს დიქტატურას დომენიკის რესპუბლიკაში; მათი მკვლელობა თვითონ დიქტატორის მიერ იყო შეკვეთილი. 1981 წლის 25 ნოემბერს ფემინისტებმა მოაწყვეს დემონსტრაცია ქალებზე ძალადობის შესახებ ცნობიერების ასამაღლებლად, 1999 წელს კი გაერომ ეს თარიღი ქალებზე ძალადობასთან ბრძოლის საერთაშორისო დღედ გამოაცხადა. 25 ნოემბერს იწყება 16-დღიანი კამპანია გენდერის ნიშნით ძალადობის წინააღმდეგ, რომელიც 10 დეკემბერს - ადამიანის უფლებათა დაცვის საერთაშორისო დღეს - სრულდება. 1994 წელს დომენიკელი წარმოშობის ამერიკელმა ავტორმა ხულია ალვარესმა გამოაქვეყნა ცნობილი რომანი „პეპლების ჟამი“ (In the Times of Butterflies), რომელიც დები მირაბალების ცხოვრებას ეფუძნება.
